What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
This is a great opportunity for because I will be able to buy a piece land with the 1st installment that I will receive from Give Directly, and be a le to move my family to a safe place where hopefully I will have built a house with the 2nd installment. I am so grateful for such an opportunity to receive this money.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was so happy to harvest some coffee in the month of October last year though it did not yield much due to the unfertile soil because I cannot afford money to buy fertilizer for my garden.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge I am facing is the current hot season that we experience from the month of January to April every year, which has caused drought in my village Silayi in Butoto subcounty leading to hunger. It is challenging to because at my age I am forced to look for some casual work like digging in the neighbors so I am able to put some food on the table. Then also during the rainy season our area gets surrounded by water flowing from the the top making the ground in the house soggy making us live in fear thinking any time I and my family may be washed away by land slides.
