Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very excited upon seeing my phone that was credited with that huge amount of money that I have never dreamt I will have in my life. I felt so happy and at the same time I was speechless. I wondered around my neighbors as if I was a mad woman in disbelief.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life has changed from someone who had a grass thatched house to having a house that is roofed by iron sheets. Furthermore, I did not harvest enought maize that would have taken me and my children throughout the year, but with the coming in of the transfer, I bought maize that will take us through out the year.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the first transfer to buy 24 iron sheets, 3 bags of maize, door frame and window frames. I have saved up some money that will be used to buy fertiliser in preparation for farming period. I also bought one blanket and clothes for my children.
