In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly does well in keeping its promises to the people. I am a bodaboda rider aspiring to flourish in livestock and poultry farming. I am very confident that the funds I receive from the organization are enough to accomplish my ultimate goal. I find nothing wrong with how Give Directly works.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received the money my first priority was creating a budget to settle the most urgent needs. So I bought 2 bags of maize cereal worth KES 4000. I also purchased an insecticide at KES 500 to spray our goats that were infested with ticks. I use solar energy for lighting in my house and am required to pay the installation company some daily fees. Therefore, I set aside the remaining amount to cater for these power bills and saved the rest for any emergency.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money will mean that the entire household will now comfortably be able to chip in on the bills, especially food and medical care.
My other siblings have been struggling to feed us. I can hardly do any strenuous jobs because I am unwell. I suffer from epilepsy.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I come from a close knit family. I really enjoy being here because of the love we share. Even in the worst situation, we always find a way to brave the storms together. We support each other. It brings so much joy and peace through and through.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am epileptic. All my ten siblings have been making so much effort to get for me good medical help in vain. Most doctors that they approach are just too expensive.
I feel relieved because these transfers will be used to get me a good doctor and my prayer is that, I will get well.
