How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My son had stayed home for 3 years due to lack of school fees as I wouldn't afford to pay his school fees with the little income through casual jobs. Now he has join high school and as a parent I am happy as Give Directly enabled me to pay his school fee. I also bought a cow which now gives us milk and has enabled me to pay my son's school fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Am so happy about Give Directly with the approach about eradicating poverty through lump sum transfers. Am a living example who felt the impact which the changes in my life.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
The second transfers which I received from GD I spent part of it to buy uniform, pay school fees and buy some food for the family since we had no food at all. I would depend on casual jobs. I also built a house for my teenager son.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to own a cow. Owning a cow has been my biggest desire and I thank since I will soon own one through the transfer from GiveDirectly.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Waking up healthy, happy and seeing a new day makes my morning the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
In the year 2009, I lost my husband through unknown desease and that has been the biggest hardship I have faces in life since I had to fend for my family single handedly. My life changed completely and I had to work as a casual labourer, which I was not used to and the money I get is hardly enough to meet the family's needs and other expenses.
