The biggest difference in my life is that I cleared school fees areas. This has freed me from frustrations and allowed me to relax and focus on providing food for the family being that this was a time of famine in my village. My children's education has continued smoothly even during this time of food scarcity and financial hard times because I paid for them fully and in good time. My house construction had stalled at the time when my children joined the school and dragged on for many years but is now 2 weeks from its completion. I am a happy man and a proud father for providing my children with education and a nice home.

In my opinion, GiveDireclty in the way they are very organized and effective communication. They had told us the process we would go through to the point where we get money. They are transparent, efficient and genuine. Additionally, unlike the other organizations, there was no one to connect with Give directly for one to benefit. Instead, you only deal with GD staff directly. In fact, they brought their offices into my home and worked for me right on my old little wooden dining table. I dint r spend money and our time to get this services. I have never stepped in any of their offices yet I have completed receiving their aid. This is the best thing about them! I commend them. I wish our county governments would function like GiveDirectly. We would suddenly turn to be a superpower like the USA.

I spent the money I recently received on building a house in my homestead. I bought building stones, cement, sand, and gravel at a cost of Ksh 34000. I then paid for construction labor. I am building for my children to live in. I had a small hut that was not ideal to house my college teenagers and the young ones. I then bought some chicken to expand my poultry project. I even bought a wire mesh to improve the poultry.

Prior to GiveDirectly sent the transfer, I had stress since I didn't have money to pay school fees for my children. On many occasions, I have not been able to get menial jobs in the month of January. I was also foreseeing hardship in providing for my family. The difference in my daily life from then is the happiness and peace of being able to pay school fees for my children on time. On the other hand, with the money that my neighbor's got, most of them ventured into constructing new houses. From this, I have able to get income from the wages I make from constructing the house hence provide for my family with ease.

My day starts at 6 am in the morning therefore while I was milk my cows I heard a message alert , thereafter, I decided to check it out that is when I knew GiveDirectly had sent money . I felt relieved since I knew the money will help me in terms of paying school fees for my children and upon informing my spouse she jumped out of joy then we celebrated together.

I spent part of my first transfer to pay college fees and school secondary fees for two of my children respectively . I spent some for Christmas festive celebration . I also built a small extension wing to serve as a sleeping place for my grown up children for them to have their own privacy .
