Since farming is not promising here, we ought to seek for alternative sources of income. With this, I plan on adding more goats to my herd so as to be an investment to my family of four. I will spend KES 30000 on purchasing more goats . I also plan on spending KES 10000 on repairing the goat's shed. To back up my husband in providing for the family, I plan on spending KES 5000 on purchasing stock for my salon business. I will be excited that my family will have an extra source of income hence curb the food shortages for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The climatic conditions in this area of Kapkules is infavourable for farming therefore we have to look for alternative sources of income so as to provide food for the family of four. With that , we are left to depend on my husband Amos who is motorcycle rider. This business earns the family KES 300 barely enough to cover the basic needs exhaustively. Even with this challenge I am always happy that we have never slept hungry.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Providing food for my family of four has become a real challenge for us. We depend on my husband, Amos, who operates a motorcycle taxi business to provide for us. Unfortunately, his business is not doing well, and on most days, he only earns around KES 300, which is not enough to cover even the basics like food. We do not farm here either, since the weather conditions are not favorable for growing crops. Even though it is tough sometimes, I am grateful that we have never lacked food, thanks to Amos. He works hard, and no matter how little we earn, he always makes sure there is something on the table for us. I am thankful for that, even though things are hard.
