What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I cleared school fees arrears for my child in a secondary school. I have prioritized education of my children since I never went to school and now I can see my peers who went to school are more well off than me. They don't equally struggle in life like me.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been without cash transfers in that currently, I live in a better house and my children are equally getting better education courtesy of Give Directly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly practice simplicity at its best when interacting with the recipients something that it does well. However, I would only urge they interact with the recipients a little longer in terms of giving out transfers. What they gave out never suffice.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to buy sand, cement, timber, round poles, nails and iron roofing sheets which I will use to renovate my house. The remaining transfers will be used to pay school fees for my daughters who are in primary school.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having worked as a farm hand and after diligently saving my earnings I was able to buy an ox. I later slaughtered the ox and sold the meat. I then added some of my savings on to the money that I gained and bought a donkey.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to build a better house for my family, my current house is dilapidated and I fear that the walls might collapse.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is around midday when I am usually selling sweet potatoes by the roadside. The atmosphere is usually very lively as customers and sellers interact with each other and this makes me very happy.
