How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been working very hard to earn enough money and complete my house project. It seems unlikely for me to achieve my dreams due to very low income received from farm work. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought building materials such zinc (2 bundles), nails (1carton) and 4 bags of cement to complete my house project and moved in with my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am very much elated and grateful to be a part of this life changing opportunity provided me by GiveDirectly. From my own observation, GiveDirectly has been very honest in delivering cash to poor people like us. My life has improved tremendously. A big thanks to the entire team at GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My main priority was to complete my house project and moved in with my family. Therefore, I used a huge portion of my transfer to purchase 2 bundles of zinc ($ 24,000LD). Portion of my transfer was also used to purchase zinc nails and mixed nails for roofing purposes. Furthermore, I bought 4 bags of cement to put floor and plaster the walls of my house. My balance money was used as transportation for materials and compensation for contractors working on my house.
