How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My dream was to build a house. I also wanted to buy mattress for my family. Therefore, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I bought two bundles of zinc and a very big mattress for my home. Furthermore, part of my transfer was saved to pay contractors brush a parcel of land to extend my farm. I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity provided me by GiveDirectly. My life has changed completely.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
My family and I have been going through some tough times lately. Fortunately, we became part of GD's program. GiveDirectly has been very honest in delivering cash to us poor people. Most often I feel very amazed by the fact that I have received such amount as good will. I therefore see nothing that GD is not doing quite well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I wanted to build a house and purchase a very big mattress for my family. I however needed money also to expand my cocoa farm. In doing so, when I received my transfer, I bought two bundles of zinc for $21,000LD to roof my house. Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was one Thursday at about 8:30 am when I went to the network place to check my mobile money account because alert hardly reached my phone. After checking my mobile money account, I saw forty thousand three hundred seventy five dollars. Upon seeing the money in my account, I can say that hold day was a joyous one for me because since I was born I have not seen this amount of money before. I highly appreciate GiveDirectly for enrolling into the program.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly, the biggest difference in my daily life is that I no more worry about where I will get money to pay back the debts I owe other people and build a new house; because, I have been told by GiveDirectly that I am going to receive this amount four different times. Moreover, I am going to have a new house with the roof covered with zinc and the walls and floors covered with cement. Once again I am grateful to GiveDirectly for this opportunity. May the almighty God bless the workings of GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am going to use part of my most recent transfer to buy zinc and part to pay debt. My house is in a deplorable condition now. At the back of this house part of the walls fell which I was trying to rebuild before GiveDirectly sent the money that is currently in my phone. Even the roof no longer holds the rain waters from falling in the house while sleeping. Over the years I have been worrying about where to get money to build a new house and pay back the debts I owe . I thank God for GiveDirectly for giving me this money. I am going to use it wisely to build my new house and pay all the debts I owe others..

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I wasn't able to support myself in school so I drop out of school and ended up as a village farm so once I get this transfer I will support my children with their educations so they can't end up their lives like me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
One of my sons graduated from Junior high this year so during his graduation program I was so happy seeing my dream coming reality.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Getting my children educational support is so challenging for me because I'm only depending on my small farm to generate money for theirs schooling and to substain ourselves.
