How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently, I am very happy because I am in the process of starting to construct a permanent house that I did not imagine I would own. Earlier on, I used to worry a bout how to acquire grass for renovating houses that used to leak yearly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well through giving unconditional cash transfers to the poor people in the community. I would suggest that GiveDirectly should enroll neighbouring communities such that there is balanced development within the region to avoid jealousy.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer worth Ugx 200,000 for burning bricks that I intend to use for constructing my house. I bought iron sheets at UGX 400,000. I have restocked my existing business with UGX 500,000 and feeding costed UGX 50,000. I paid school fees for my children worth UGX 100,000. The balance of UGX 382,000, I have kept it in order to spend on starting construction.
