What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive the cash transfer, I will build my own house. My first house I built here got damaged and broken down because it has lasted for long and got old. The house that I am in now is for a neighbour who is always asking me to leave her house. I have planned already to build the house for which I have cut the sticks. But the challenge left here now is how to raise money to buy the zinc. I have been producing coal to sell and raise the money for that, but the money is not enough. This is because it is the same coal money I can used to buy food for my household and as well use some for medical treatment when any of my household members falls ill. As the result of that, it has been very difficult to have enough money kept for the house project. Now that GD has come and promised to send me money when I am truthful to them, that will be a dream come through for me to be able to implement my plan.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Yes, I was very happy last September, one of my sisters surprised me with $1,500 LD cash that is equivalent to $10.00 USD. I was very happy becuse before she gave me the money that day, I had no idea of how I was going to provide food for my family that day and week. But when I received the money from her, it helped me that I was able to provide food for my family for the entire week.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenge for me here is how to have money to implement my plans. Like I have told you earlier, I really want to have my own house built, but I don't have money to buy zinc. Besides the house project, I also need money to send my children to school, but I don't have money to do. I know if I have money, all the challenges named above will no more be a challenge. So the major challenge for me is how to raise money to implement my plans.
