How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to change my thatch roof to zinc. This has really been my dream because every year I have to re-roof the house with thatch. My house roof leaks too much. Poor me, I have not been able to afford a single sheet of zinc. But a big thanks to GiveDirectly for being here for me. Through the helped from GiveDirectly, I have been able to buy four bundles of zinc to began the re-roofing of my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I tell GD's family thank you for being here for me. This organisation has done so much well for me by giving me money that I was able to purchase enough zinc and nails to re-roof my house from thatch to zinc. It is something so unique that this organisation is doing, and I have seen not unwell from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My last transfer was spent on the purchase of 2 bundles of zinc and nails to improve the condition of my house roof. Since I built this house, I have not had the hand to change the thatch over it with zinc. Because I didn't had money to do so. Receiving such a plenty money from GiveDirectly has really brought smile on my face. It has enable me to buy enough zinc, nails and planks to start the re-roofing of my house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so much happy when I receive the money because all my friends that are in my village have received their money but I was the only person that was left over. I have been planning to build a new house because the previous house that I am living in with my family is not in good condition. Moreover, changing the roof over the previous house has been on my mind but I have not been able to because my financial status is so low that I could not afford to generate such amount of money to achieve my dreams. With this transfer from Givedirectly I will be able to change the thatch roof over my house for rental purpose. More precisely , I will build a new house for the comfort of my family and I in the future for us to stay.

All around my environment in my village, there is lot of changes that I have never seen before. I am so much happy right now because I have never been able to see such amount of money. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for everything they have done for me by improving my life positively.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been living underneath a leaking thatch roof for so long. The uncomfortable life conditions caused by the roof during rainy seasons were so unbearable anymore until GiveDirectly came. Through the transfer from Givedirectly, I was able to used portion of the money to buy two bundles of zinc to change the old thatch roof over my house that have been leaking so badly over the passed years. The remaining portion of the transfer, I have decided to save it to add up to the other transfer. With that, I will be able to get enough cash on hands to complete the renovation of the house for future used.
