How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My children's education has always been my priority. Being a parent without a stable source of income, it had always been a problem for me to raise money to use in paying school fees and my son had been so devastated and demoralized. However, my life is currently different because I cleared his school fees and he was allowed back to school. Due to this, he is always in a jovial mood since he knows that he will never be sent back home again.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by coming to help us and lift us from the poverty we were in and I do not see anything that they did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
The second transfers which I received, I spent to pay school fees for the whole four years for my son using some amount from my second transfer. I settled on this since I wanted him to concentrate on his studies like other students. Also, I spent some amount to buy food for the family. On the remaining amount, I did some household shopping for my family on buying foodstuffs and other basic needs and paid for other household expenses.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very happy to be among those who will be receiving this cash transfer and I know for a fact that it will impact me and my family positively. I will now be able to raise my family's living standards considerably. God bless you GD.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I wake up feeling good, energized and ready to partake on the hustle of the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am blessed with a family of thirteen individuals among them 11 kids. Myself being unemployed, I have been unable to fend for their needs especially food, shelter and education. The latter has hit me hard since none of them has been able to finish schooling due to my inability to pay for their school fees. This has made them drop out school rendering them unable to get a job and now we are all together at home. All these has made me feel like a failed parent towards them. This for me is the biggest hardship I have ever experienced.
