How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I had never received the transfer, I would not have gotten money to expand my shop business. As a result, my income has increased. I think it increased my income by up to 20% - 30 % per month. I am receiving a lot of customers because my shop is always full. No one comes to my shop and miss whatever it is that they are looking for.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirecly did so well in that there was no partiality in selecting people to benefit in the village. All the members of the village were treated well by GiveDirectly staff and this was very impressive. There has been no way in which the organization did wrongly in my community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the money I received on expanding my business. I am a shop keeper in a town near my home. I used the money on stocking the shop so that I have more items to trade. The items are fast-moving goods that require one to have a huge stock in order to have any significant trade. I, therefore, decided to have all the money in this business since I am dedicated to driving this business successful.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I currently run a small business in a nearby town-A mobile money agency and cooking gas retail shop.I put in all of my savings as capital but it was not really sufficient to buy enough stock.I was therefore forced to start with the little I could but I would wish to expand.Receiving this money will enable me to expand this business by buying more stock.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I work as a clinical officer at the regional refferal hospital. My job is very tasking since it involves human lives. There is hardly even time to take a break.During my work hours from morning till evening,I find no time to spend with my family.Eventually, evening comes as quite a relief and a moment to rest. This is the happiest part of my day because I get to spend it with my young family with whom I hqve been away from for a whole day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
When I was in high school through to medical college,I was often faced with the challenge of raising school fees.My parents, being peasant farmers, had to struggle without any income to pay for my siblings and I.At some point, when it had proved extremely difficult and I even thought I will have to drop out of college,he was forced to sell a piece of land to settle this.As a result of this,we remained with a very small piece and since I now have a family it is not enough to grow food for my family.Hence, most times I am forced to spend money to buy food which I would have grown if I had a bigger land for farming. This is the biggest hardship I have faced.
