Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Having competed the school fess payment, I have a new goal to start the construction of a new house in the next four months. School fees payment took the better part of our resources and we could not concentrate on other new projects over that time. At the moment we can save and even source other money from the casual labor we have been doing and this will enable us to start the construction of a better house in our family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Receiving the transfers from GiveDirectly has been the greatest thing in my life. There has been changes in my life which have seen me progress from the very low level I was in. The biggest difference in my daily life is the ease of settling school fees payment for my son who is currently in college. The transfers made it so easy for us to pay the whole amount which was required thus getting time to work harder in our farms to earn more for the following semesters.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months it is my expectation that some changes as far as the construction of a new house is a concern. We have laid down strategies towards the same and we are hopefully that we will have made some steps by the end of six months.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have electricity connection for lighting my home.I used to buy paraffin everyday. This was a strain in my budget but cheaper electricity has eased it.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change because my son will have completed college.I will only be working for food and this will be a big relieve for me.I will be living a better life
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had time to stay home for a month just to ease away the fatigue that had accumulated from hard casual labor .I used to work continuously ,without rest because I needed to support my child in college. This changed when I received this transfer and payed school fees and bought some food materials.I even stopped going to a market to sell crops that had exposed me to a chest problem because of the morning cold.I was advised to stop doing it to reduce my pain but it was not until I got this transfer. This ability to get some time to rest is the biggest difference in my life.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My new goal is to plant short season and high value crops in my farm. This will enable me to earn an income

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My husband felt sick and later passed on 25 years ago leaving me to fend for my children alone. The little money we had was used to settle medical bills and funeral expenses. The biggest hardship has been raising my children single handedly and without any money, leaving me with no choice but to work extra hard through casual work and at times the money i get is too little for us to have three meals a day.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning after waking up healthy and ready to go to work.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer to pay School fees and the remaining money, I will use to improve my house.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Educating my children through Primary, Secondary and College single handedly has been my proudest achievement. I have managed to meet my family's needs through casual work and a small business of grocery.
