Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The day I received my first transfer I was very happy , it was like my dream come true. Just seeing the airtel money message I knew that the problem I had of not having a proper home since my house got damaged with cyclone Ana is coming to an end. After the house collapsed I managed to buld a waiting shelter , using glass . It was not a proper shelter but since I did not have any other means of getting money I had no choice. Although I am married but I am the head of house because my husband does not do anything to help the family. With the money I have received I have managed to buld a proper house and bought food to feed my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life have changed because now I have a proper house I can call home unlike the waiting shelter I had before receiving the first transfer. In addition to having a proper house I also have enough enough food to feed my family .I am just looking fo to the next transfer so that I can also buy more food to sustain my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
when I got the first transfer I managed to mould bricks, buy wood to use in bulding my house. I also bought a door so that my house can have a proper door unlike the waiting shelter which i had . In addition to that I also bought food since my crops got washed away with the floods.
