What does receiving this money mean to you?
My husband and I are currently living in a house that is not in good condition. We intend to construct a new structure but we are financially constraints and can not afford to undertake such project now. Besides, my children are constantly been put out of school due to my inability to pay their tuition on time. If my household qualifies for GiveDirectly cash transfer program, I intend to use the money to build a decent structure for my family and I and to also keep sending my children to school to obtain quality education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was able to burn charcoal for several months which helps me to save some money. Being able to save money to pay my children school fees and buy all their school materials before the beginning of the school year brought some level of joy and happiness to me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My husband and I are currently surviving through burning charcoal. We burn charcoal and sell it to get money to buy food for the house and portion goes toward my children school fees. Burning charcoal from years to years is very difficult and I don't intend to continue with it. Finding money raising money to establish another means of survival that will complement the charcoal burning and to keep paying my children school fees is the biggest challenge I am facing right now.
