How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently I have things that I never ha before which includes the two cows that I already mentioned , brand new furniture and a solar powered system. I no longer have to use paraffin lamps that are so toxic and harmful to the health of human beings.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion I think the organization changes lives by giving unconditional cash transfers to the needy who always use the money to transform their lives in so many ways. There are those who prefer to the money to build new houses, while others use it to cultivate their farms, there are those who also use the transfers to buy cows, new clothes and even pay school fees for their kids.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the money on buying new building materials such as new iron sheets which were eight in total plus other materials such as cement and concrete which were so useful especially in the final process of constructing the new house. Apart from that, I also managed to buy two cows that were being sold at a cost of thirty one thousand shillings. Finally I bought a solar powered system and furniture that were trading at around twenty thousands shillings.

The difference is that I am debt free currently and I can as well feed well.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of stable source of income to cater for my family needs like food and education. This has led to separation between me and my wife.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when working in my Shamba because I know very well that my family will get food at the end.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I am going to revive my business of selling groceries. My daughter is also going to complete her college education since I am going to pay her school fees.
