My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer because my family now has access to clean water for consumption and domestic use. This has been possible since I was able to purchase a water tank using my first transfer and I now use it to harvest rain water. Also, I have been able to cement my house and I am glad because the cleaning process has been made easier and it is always clean.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by deciding to give us financial help and by honoring their promise.

When I received my second transfer, I spent the whole amount to cement my house. I bought all the necessary requirements and paid for the labour. I settled on this so that the cleaning of my house can be a bit easier and less time consuming. I had been living in a decent house but the floor was made of mud and this had always degraded it.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have bought a water tank for storing clean water. I used to walk for a long distance to fetch clean water for domestic use. This was taking much of my time because I could walk for more than four hours to get to where we fetch the water and sometimes there was a long queue of people at the river waiting to fetch water too. This was taking much of my time and it was so tiresome and I could not do any other job after carrying water. Sometimes we buy water from people who sells during the dry season and this was so costly for me because I do not have continues source of income. We majorly depend on dairy farming and we used the small money we get for food and to pay school fees. Currently, my life has changed in that I no longer walk for long-distance to fetch water like I used to do before, My family has clean water for drinking and they are no longer expose to water-borne related diseases, I have also devoted most of my time on my farm and this has led to good harvest and sufficient food for the family . I am so much grateful because our standard of living has changed.

I felt so happy the moment I received my first transfer. It was very early in the morning when I heard a message from my phone. When I checked it I could not believe my eyes because I have never received such amount of money before in my entire life. I immediately inform my children about the good news and they were all happy. I knew I would be able to buy a water tank because getting water was a bigger challenge for us.
