What does receiving this money mean to you?
The means of survival for our household has been through hunting and farming. We earn money to sent our children to school from the hunting that I am involved with, the day I don't succeed from the hunting bush, things become very difficult for us, especially in terms of getting food for the children. We also get food for our family from the little farm that my wife and I have been making but since our daughter got sick, I sent them to Fish Town to seek Medication, thing's haven't been easy for the children and myself, especially for me taking care of them as a father in the absence of their mother. However, if I am successfully enrolled in to Give Directly's Cash transfer program, I want to use some of the money to pay our children school fees and if the remaining is still sufficient, I want to begin the construction of my house on the piece of land that my wife and I purchased some years back in Fish Town. I want to built a house there to help my children in the future, when they shall have gotten promoted to a higher grade level in Education, then they can be there while seeking higher Education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, I haven't experienced anything else like happiness or joy because I have been facing series of challenges, especially the lack of finances. As we speak currently, Since my daughter took sick and her mother carried her to fish town to seek Medication, theings haven't improve yet. So whenever I sit and think on my current situation, it brings more sorrow to me than joy or happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
There are series of challenges that my wife and I are currently facing but the major challenge for us is the lack of money. The means of survival for our household has been through hunting and farming. We earn money to sent our children to school from the hunting that I am involved with, the day I don't succeed from the hunting bush, things become very difficult for us, especially in terms of getting food for the children and getting their needs.
