What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on buying a bag of maize to feed on with my family 4,400 KES. I have saved the rest of the transfer 43,400 KES since I am planning to purchase household furniture with it.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I have a toilet that I did not have before the transfer and now I no longer practice open defecation which is unsanitary act.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly did well by giving unconditional cash transfer to the less unfortunate households without involving middlemen in the dispersion of the money.

I spent my second transfer to buy a bull that I will use to work on my farm and I also bought a cow to give me milk to sell and consume. I then saved the remaining amount for future use.

The biggest difference to me is that I have been able to buy my first livestock that will greatly improve my life.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to save the money so that when my two daughters join secondary school I will be able to afford their fees. I also have to pay school fees for my daughter who is in primary school.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having managed to take care of my children and educated them after my spouse died. In fact my eldest son has established his own homestead.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to renovate my house, it is dilapidated and I fear that the walls might collapse anytime.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when my grandchildren and children come to visit me. Talking with them always makes me very happy.
