How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, I have a new goal of starting of a fish selling business after I am done with farming so that I am able to save money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
It does well by giving people cash transfers so that they can be able to decide what do do with their money. There is nothing that it does not to do well.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the message of the transfer in the morning around 11am when i was in the field. I couldn't wait to break the news to my wife as this was the beginning of our solutions to anumber of problems we were facing
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was really struggling financialy as i was unable to start even a small business. Life was really hard for us as we could barely even afford food. But now with the paymenta we have received, i have managed to start a business were i sell dried fish in the community. I have even managed to save some money to be used for food and other emergencies.My life has greatly improved. I am very grateful to Give Directly for the program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Most of the money has been spent on iron sheets for the house as the old ones were leaking excessively. I have also bought a cow which i believe in the next coming years will bear me more cattle to rear and i will sell some for meat.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money has meant putting an end to my problems, I have debts that need repayment, fixing and paying school fees for my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last months I made a huge profit on my business and the money really helped me alot.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge I have faced was when I wrote my MSCE I lost my parents and I had no one who could pay for my school fees and as a result I started farming which is still helping me earn food and money to support my family. I farm maize and tobacco which helps me to earn money.
