How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My lifee is now different, I know Givedirectly cannot do everything we want. But i am grateful because it gave us start up capitals for building a house, buying food as well as on figuring out on how to invest the money. My life is no longer the Same.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give directly had done More than well. I had hunger issues in my house, but as of lately we have been able to eat without struggling all because of Give Directly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have not used it yet. I am am planning to spend it on building a house. The house I am currently staying in is very small for my family. I want to build a bigger, safer and stronger house that can withstand the rains and strong winds. I bought frames and moulded bricks using the first transfer. I have also used the money for buying food to deal with hunger issues in my house

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Honestly, I was so excited when I received this transfer from GiveDirectly. I had a feeling of pride and happiness. For once I was relieved because I knew that I will have a better and reliable house that does not leak during the rainy season.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life because of this transfer is that the house Iam about to start constructing will give me piece of mind and comfort during the rainy season.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have bought construction materials such as timber, bricks, cement etc. I want to build a proper house with this transfer. A house is an asset that I have always wanted to possess. This is my golden opportunity therefore to build it.

This money means that I will be able to build a house for my family. The house we live in now is thatched with grass which means we change the roof annually.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest whenever I harvest maize because we have enough food to eat with my wife and children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is not having enough money to build a house.
