What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to buy a cow. Used a portion of the remaining money to complete my house. Paid fee to my child in high school fee. I also purchased foodstuffs for my consumption.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I've increased in body weight since I get foodstuff without struggling so much. Apart from that, I've managed to complete my house which has remained incomplete for so long due to financial challenges.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GD does well is that it remains focused in changing the livelihood of the community. At the moment, I'm not sure of what GD doesn't do well.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer on buying iron sheets for my son who wanted to build his own house but did not have enough money to do so. I then paid school fee for my daughter and spent the rest of the transfer on buying 2 goats which I will be rearing for later sales.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that i feel happy for my son who had really wanted to build his own house but could not because he did not have enough funds but was able to accomplish his dreams through the help I gave him by buying him iron sheets.

I spent my first transfer on paying secondary school fee for my child (3,000 KES),bought a goat as an investment (3,500 KES) and bought 1 bag of dry corn for food (3,000 KES)
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money (Recipient laughs again and sounds very happy) was the happiest day of my life because I had received a precious yet free gift that I could use to improve my life.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Our first plan is to spend part of the transfer to pay school fees for our children. One is in university, one in secondary school and one in primary. Secondly, we plan to use another part to finish plastering our house, and lastly, we plan to use the remaining amount to buy a bull that in addition to the three we already have, we intend to use in ploughing our farm.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Having educated my two children up to form four is the greatest achievement I am proudest of.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life is paying school fees for our child in secondary and the two in primary school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is during the day as I work in my farm watering my vegetables.
