How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my daily life is the joy I feel having managed to buy my own plot of land. I am now a free spirited person as together with my family we are living happily. Before , I used to stay at my inherited parent's land since we were many of us hence it was congested and most of the time conflict could arise over this land with my brother who missed a share . I am delighted that I have a plot which serves as my homestead hence this is the best gift GiveDirectly gave me since I have reduced congestion as well .
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly did well since it did sensitize my community members through Barazas on the onset of the project . Secondly , giving money the way it had promised built more trust and respect to the organization . Most significantly majority of the beneficiaries built iron sheet houses from the thatched ones which as brought a bigger difference of our village appearance.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
With the first transfer and part of my savings . I did combine them together onto the second transfer 53, 000 KES and bought a piece of land ( plot ) in Molo sub -location where I was referred with one of my relative . Today , I stay in peace and happiness with my family in this plot where we have established our homestead since I have been able to put up two houses for them .
