How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in that, I have been in position to own livestock which I could not have bought on my own had I not received transfer for GiveDirectly. I did not have any source of income which could have enabled me acquire all these livestock at once because I have in total five livestock. These transfer have improved my standards of living because I now have new household items that's to say, mattress and clothes Therefore I sleep and dress well. Prior, To getting these transfers I didn't have enogh clothes and I used to sleep on a very old mattress. Secondly, People used to laugh at me because at my age I did not have livestock of my own.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly in my view, Has transformed my life to a great extent. Previously I did not own livestock but I managed to acquire them using GiveDirectly's cash transfers.In my community, I have noticed that most people used these transfers to construct houses, start up businesses, buy livestock, pay fees for their children and acquire household items. According to me, GiveDirectly did everything well because all households benefited from the program as long as they met selection criteria.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent one million (1000000) on purchasing livestock. I saved five hundred thousand (500000) for future use and I used ugx 133000 for buying household items.
