Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
There was a loud noise that woke me up from my sleep that evening of November 21st, I came out and saw my neighbors jumping up and down shouting Givedirectly's name. I quickly picked my phone and went at the network area, the message alert reached after few minutes. I can't read, but I opened the message and saw the money figures. I was very happy. I started rejoicing and telling God thank you for Givedirectly. I came back home and shared the good news with my husband, he was even happier than me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness. Givedirectly brought me peace of mind, I do not have to struggle to find money for my children's fees and I also do not have to scrub people's clothes or do their house chores in exchange of them brushing my farm.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My husband and I decided to two of our children's fees. Our sleeping place is leaking, we agreed to buy two bundles of zinc to re-roof our house. The rest of the money was used on food items for our children's upkeep.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I received this cash, I will buy a zinc and build my house, because the house that we are living in, it is not for us, secondly, the roof is old and the thatch is leaking. When the rain falls, we can't sleep, whole night we catching water. My husband and myself will used portion of the money for us to be selling in order to make life better for us. Things are very hard on us, for us to get food, he have to do casual labor job by hauling planks just to feed the home. From my side, I can go on other villagers or next village citizens farm to do casual labor job by scratching or cutting their rice at the end to get something for us to eat.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Givedirectly has make me and my husband happy, by giving me phone and money and did not tell us how to use it, but tell us to use it in the way that it will benefit us. I feel that, from this money, my husband will not haul people planks and I will not go on people farm to do daily work, because God has answered our prayers through Givedirectly. Since we got together, we have not seen such an opportunity/blessing to come on our way, it makes me happy plenty.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Our biggest hardship is to get money. My husband have to do daily hire by hauling planks from long distances in the high forest just to maintain the home. Last year, we made farm, but due to the heavy down pull of rain, our farm did not come up good. I have to help him too by scratching on other villagers farm, and at the end what they will give me, I will bring it home as backup, if he not succeed at where he go hustled, then, we can use that little to eat and get back on our feet for the next day.
