Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received this cash I was so amazed like Wow so such things really happen in real life..So I'm forever grateful for this as It is a way of helping me to sustain my household and to improve on some of the things that I have been struggling with.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My greatest difference with this cash is that I am now able to rent a land which will be used for crop cultivation..I have a land where I cultivate my crops but the land is too small to produce high yields, so I feel like with this new extra land, I will have enough maize and other crops for food and business too. The other thing is that of a better sleeping place with better beddings and that there is pure joy in the house as everyone feels satisfied with enough food that we have.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my most recent transfer, I have managed to procure a few construction materials such as iron sheets and windowframes which I intend to use when building my new house in the next months. I have also bought better beddings such as duvets and blankets and a new sleeping place( mattress)..Some cash was spent on procuring farming equipments such as hoes. Lastly, I used the money in renting a land where I plan on cultivating my crops in the rainy season..

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am filled with so much joy and gladness about the program and receiving this money will help me buy some fertilizers for the next growing season and again I intended to build a more good looking house as the one I currently live in is small and grass thatched and it badly leaks during heavy rain making it very uncomfortable to stay in it during that time of the year.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest whenever I could afford to have at least two meals a day with my household especially during the evening when everyone else is here
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I don't have a stable source of income as a result it becomes very difficult to sustain my daily needs. Again, casual labour is difficult to find, and the pay is usually less than $5 per work which is not enough to provide for our daily needs
