Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
As a farmer, I always wish to improve my farming by either diversifying or modernizing my farming practices to increase my returns. In the next four months, I have a new goal of increasing my livestock by buying a heifer. I prefer this since it cheaper compared to a matured dairy cow. I see it as an added asset that will not only act as a reminder of GiveDirectly but also be security to lean on in case of a financial crisis. In addition, I will have milk from both household consumption and sales.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I majorly depend on subsistence farming to earning a living and support my family. I practiced old methods of farming since I had no resources to mechanized it. This had always put my family at risk of food shortage year in year out due to subsequent low yields. I felt demoralized of this but couldn't do anything to improve. In the last four months preceding my current transfer, the biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been empowered to mechanize my farming. I employed the use of a tractor during land preparation, used hybrid seeds and artificial fertilizer that has greatly changed my crops. I was able to plan on time and I had a good harvest that has assured us of enough food.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect in the next six months to have enough farm products for both household consumption and sales hence will have minimal expenditures. I expect the income from farming to cater to my family needs especially my child's school fees. In the next six months, I see myself to be living better in that I will behave added a heifer to my herd which will always be a security as well as an investment in my family.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Currently, I have been able to plow only a portion of my farm but I still have a large portion lying fallow. I have sn idle section of the farm and developing it requires a lot of money. Since I didn't have enough capital, I only managed to develop a smaller portion. I'm, therefore, planning to use the coming transfers to develop the farm by planting a variety of crops. I'm hopeful that the crops will do well and earn me a good profit which enables me to improve my living standards.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I used part of the transfer to pay for plowing labor and to buy both hybrid seeds and farm inputs which I used on my onion farm. I was able to use the required quality inputs and crops are doing well. I'm hopeful that I'll get an improved harvest compared to the previous years. In addition, I invested part of the transfer on poultry farming. Since poultry takes a few months to multiply and mature, I'm expecting to benefit from the poultry in a month's time. I'll later use the income I'll earn from the poultry to meet most of my household's needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to continually improve myself both financially and economically. This, I hope, will come about when I improve my farming activities and fully making use of my farm. I also hope that my children excel in their studies and get some good jobs and improve themselves too. This is always the joy of parents.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I have cabbages plants on my farm which I planted after receiving the transfer from GD. I have been so busy working on my farm taking care of the plants. This is the activity I love the most and am happy like never before. I used to be working on other peoples farms for money but I now manage my own crops which I got to buy after spending the cash which I received from GD.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to buy two sheep in the next four months. Sheep mature faster and within a year I expect to have more sheep which afterwards I will sell and buy a high breed dairy cow. Its been a challenge buying milk for use as it is costly and believes that through such I will manage to buy my own cow.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Before I wouldn't get enough money to invest in farming as the little money which I got from casual jobs, I would spend to pay school fees for my children. Currently, I am happy receiving a monthly payment from GD, which has really assisted me to support my farming. I now have cabbages which are almost ready for harvesting. The better part of the better part of the day I do spend working on my farm. This has made me happy seeing the fruit of my hard work as I expect a huge reward after selling the cabbages. Were it not for GD I wouldn't be having anything to do and this has brought the difference in my life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect my children to get good health as in the past I would not afford three meals a day and a balanced diet due to menial income. After selling the farm produce I will buy maize and other foodstuffs for my family and we will enjoy together.
