How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been had I not received the transfer. First and moremost I managed to plaster my house using the cash GiveDirectly sent me. Secondly I was able to procure a bull that I use for ploughing meaning that I will no longer rely on people's oxen during ploughing time. In addition to this, I managed to hire land that I have cultivated rice on. If everything goes well I will be able to harvest a lot rice which I will sell and use the money on other stuffs in household. Lastly, this cash helped me start a produce business of selling cassava and the profits I make help sustain the well being of the family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my view, GiveDirectly did a tremendous job to send unconditional cash that has helped me plaster my house within the shortest time. These transfers have changed my life to a great extent. On the other side there I not bad GiveDirectly did.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought a bull, household items, hired land for rice growing and paid off debts.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have been in position to build the veranda, plaster and cement the floor of my house that had taken over 4 years with out completion .In addition, I have acquired a water drum and a solar system that currently provides light at night. Before receiving this transfer, I didn't have enough money to buy construction materials and paying construction workers, since the money I got from agricultural products was spent on schools and addressing family needs like food, clothing, health.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I became very happy because I have never had that amount of money in my entire life time.

I spent my first transfer to purchase 15 bags of cement, 3 trips of sand, 2 trips of aggregate, a trip of bricks and paid construction workers at UGX 400,000. Furthermore, I bought a water drum and a solar system.
