Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Previously, I had learnt how to operate an excavator machine in one of the quarrying places in our neighbourhood but I didn't have enough funds to process a permit to enable me get a formal employment. However, when I received this money from GiveDirectly, I spent it in processing a permit that I have successfully acquired . I am now expecting formal employment which will enable me support my family membrs. Secondly, I have got two pieces of land that I plan to plant some crops to support my family while in the process of seeking for a formal employment unlike before when we had only two pieces of land that couldn't produce enough crops to support the family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I became very happy because I was going to be in position to acquire a driving permit and getting pieces of land for farming.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first to process a driving permit, hired a piece of of land, lent UGX 300,000 in exchange of an piece of land and paid for transport. I have not yet spent UGX 270,000 but I intend to spend it with the second transfer to acquire livestock.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to buy a motorcycle with which I can offer boda-boda services as an income generating activity with which I can raise money to support my family. I also hope to buy a cow that will provide milk for my family and if there is any balance, I will buy food to feed the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the noon time when my family and I have had a meal more so when everyone is healthy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of food to feed the family. I am a small scale farmer but sometimes crops don't do well especially if the weather is not favourable. This has always brought about food shortage in my home.
