How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The new plans that I have now are to complete my house and focus on my business. I just completed my house I also pay my children's tuition and bought them some school materials. I bought a few bags of cement to plaster my room.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I'm grateful to give directly for their support toward me and my family. I was not able to even build a house in this village. my children were out of school because there is no one to help me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Some of my transfers were used for the completion of my house. I also purchased some provisions for my school. I was living in an old house that doesn't even have zinc and even I don't have a mattress to lay down on. but with this transfer, I'm able to get myself some items.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I want to complete my house project and invest in agriculture. I am building a 2 bedroom house that will be completed soon. Most of my recent transfer will be placed into farming. I want to make a very big cassava farm. The other portion of my transfer will be used to buy building materials to complete my house. Through GD's project, I have gained hope for the future. I feel very satisfied at the moment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly as an integrity integrity NGO has been very honest in delivering cash to poor people like us. I see nothing that GD is not doing well. It is a privilege for me to be selected as one of the beneficiaries of this program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Two of my greatest priorities right now are to complete my house project and also invest in agriculture. In so doing, I will buy 3 bundles of zinc ($33,000LD) to roof my house. I will also buy gasoline to saw plank for my new house. Finally, I will use my balance transfer to secure a huge parcel of land for my cassava farm.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was in dire need of finances to build my house and also buy a very big family mattress. I didn't have enough income to achieve all these. However, I was at my house early that faithful morning when I heard some of the town's people shouting and celebrating that they have received transfer from GiveDirectly. Immediately, I became excited and started running towards the network area to check my phone. As expected, I received a text message of cash transfer from GiveDirectly. I was so excited and began planning on initiating my house project.

Initiating my house project and also being able to purchase a very big mattress has been the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly. GiveDirectly is indeed a huge blessing to me and my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I live in my late father house which is breaking down because it's old and also leaking so when I receive my transfer, I want to build a house and also invest in agriculture.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I haven't really been happy because my thatched roof house leaks everytime it rains and so we have to put pan and bucket down to hold the water. But from the day I learned about Givedirectly coming to our Village, it has given me hope for a better future.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am having a serious challenge and it has to do with my house leaking and my two children who are out of school. My main source of income is farming. I plant bitter ball, pepper, plantain, rice etc but the money that I generate is not sufficient to buy zine and put my children in school.
