How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I never had any livestock before this project came to our village because I could not afford to buy any due to low income, but as we speak now, I have four goats and two cows. Livestock are the best investment in our community and they are mostly used as a measure of wealth, so having such a good number within a very short period is the greatest thing that has happened to me this year.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Before I received these transfers, I had very ambitious plans of buying my own motorcycle that I can use to operate the taxi business that I currently do using a hired motorcycle. When I received the money though, I realized that it would not be enough, so I bought a cow as an investment then started a grocery business with the part of the money. My new goal is to work hard and grow this business so that I can eventually quit the motorcycle taxi business and become self-employed.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
With part of my first transfer, I managed to Plaster my house which was previously made of mud and was very dusty. This has brought a very big difference in our daily lives because we are now living in a better environment that is very clean and easy to maintain.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I have just started a new grocery business using part of the money that I recently received but still partly working as a motorcycle taxi operator using a hired motorcycle. I hope that in the coming six months, the grocery business will have stabilzed enough to allow me to quit he currently one that I am doing and so that I can fully focus on it. I am also hoping that the business will turn out to be profitable enough and make it possible for me to save enough money to achieve the previous goals I had of constructing a better house.
