What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent the larger part of my third transfer on paying school fees for my child who is in high school for the whole year. I bought a sofa set seats. I also gave my son some money 20,000 KES
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in I have expanded my house and repaired the roof of my house too and I can say I feel comfortable in it as privacy is maintained even when I have visitors their is no interruption faced as opposed to before when I was living in a small squeezed house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GiveDirectly did well by giving money worth 110,000 KES to the poorest households in my community after carrying out its evaluation from the findings it had received from the door to door visitation that was voluntary to those households it had visited and now the living standards of this individual households have improved positively.

I spent the entire first transfer on buying building materials (iron sheet, timber and nails), and built an iron roofed house for my family.

The biggest difference is that i now live in a good iron roofed house as opposed to the bad house that i lived in before.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on materials for building a new house for my son after his old one fell down because he is grown and i cannot share mine with him. I also bought food since i cannot indulge in manual jobs after i had an accident while riding on a motorcycle.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt happy when i received my money because i do not have much energy to do manual jobs to earn an income.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
My plan is to build another house given that the current one is small and old, secondly I will use part my transfer to clear some fees arrears for one of my child and with the remaining amount I will start a small business of selling foodstuffs.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I'm proudest of is having saved some money and bought four cows which I later sold to pay school fees for my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I'm facing currently is on making ends meet, I'm a widow and the only sole provider for the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after taking our evening meal,I get an opportunity to study the bible which lifts my spirit in the midst of hardship.
