How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Having my own house that I constructed from the financial help from GiveDirectluy has made my life to be so different that I never expected. This is because I have always been seeking shelter from my friends and relatives for all these years, especially during the rainy seasons. Thus was so stressful because sometimes it was so embarrassing. I feel so confident now and happy parents as well. We re now living happily as a family without worrying about the rains.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did everything so perfectly because the mone4y was sent directly to my cell phone. To add to that, I was given an opportunity to choose on what to buy. Also, no one asked to pay anything in from of a bribe for me o be enrolled. This made it be so fair throughout. I do not see any sector GiveDirectly failed us.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer on buying a dairy at 15000, I bought some building materials such as iron sheets ad nails worthy of 12000. This was fir the completion of my house which I constructed using the second transfer. I then bought some three beds for my children and I which cost 9000. The remaining amount of money I bought enough foodstuffs for my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
With help from GiveDirectly's transfer, I am now in the process of building a new spacious house for my family. My greatest desire has always been to have a decent house. As old as I am, it would have taken years to fulfil this dream. The only source of income that I have is from menial jobs which have never been enough to build a house. I managed to purchase enough building materials which include iron sheets, building poles and paid for the full cost of labour. Having the hope of accessing a better shelter makes it the biggest difference in my daily life.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I had received a message notification early in the morning that particular day but being illiterate, I had to seek assistance from my helper. I sent someone to call her, and when she came, she read the message and informed me that I had finally received my first transfer. I was very happy and began my day celebrating together with my family which was one of the unforgettable days in my entire life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent a larger portion of my transfer on buying building materials to facilitate the construction of my new house. I am a casual laborer and the little wages that I get have never given me the opportunity to build a new home. When I received my transfer, building materials were the first things that I thought of buying. I am now in the process of building the new home which is a great joy to me. Additionally, I also paid a portion of the money to pay for my children's school fees. They are now settled in school which had been my joy. I spent the remaining amount to cater to my household's basic needs such as foodstuffs and other household expenses.

I am planning to spend 300 USD in purchasing Iron sheets and building poles to construct a decent house for my family. I also plan to use the remaining amount to educate my third born who is join secondary school early next year.
