How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have been engaging in a small scale business where I sell fish to my customers at a small profit. The business does not generate so much money so the little that I get on a day to day basis is what we use to buy food for the family which basically means that we live from hand to mouth.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have the desire to cement the interior and exterior parts of my house in order to transform it into a semi-permanent house. I have to make sure that I buy enough bags of cement and sand that will be used during that process. The process requires quite some amount of money that we have to save for sometime before being able to embark on it.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference for me is that the money has enabled me to build a new big house that can comfortably accommodate my entire family. I used to face a lot of challenges living in such a small house with my kids because it deprived us of some privacy. Additionally, it became impossible hosting visitors especially those who came visiting for more than a day.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
We are currently getting into the planting season and everyone is busy preparing their farms in preparation for the rainy season. I also have to work hard and ensure that my land is fully prepared before the rains come down. I expect to get a good harvest at the end of the season so that I can have enough food to feed my family moving forward into the unforeseeable future.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payment from GIveDirectly is that I feel proud because I now have decent seats and I do not have to borrow any more from neighbors whenever I have visitors.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to to have a bigger house that can fit my family in the next six months because currently I have a single room house.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I now have decent furniture which I culdn't afford but I have always longed to own. This is how my life is currently from the way it would have been had I not received the money.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I have a new goal of starting up a business so that I can have a source of income because at the moment I do not have any source of income.
