My life is different from how it would have because of the following assets that I now own. Previously I used to shelter under a small house and its state was not pleasing at all. There was no privacy at all considering some of my children are grown-ups. My wish was to construct a better one but because of the low income I made from the casual jobs, I could not afford it. We are now happily living as a family it ha seven strengthen our love greatly. Also, the giats that I purchased have transformed my life becasue nowadays whenever I experience any financial constraints I have assets to lean on.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly did its best in every part of my region. This is from the feedback from the community that some of us have been talking about. First of all, I liked the fact that we were being followed up concerning the transfers we receive this showed that GD is so concerned about our wellbeing so much. Also, I was free to call their hotline whenever I had any burning issues. I do not see any part GD failed us.

I spent part of my second transfer on buying three goats at a total of KES 15000. I have really been yearning to own them for years but becasue of the poverty life, this was not possible. Also, I bought a new bg wooden bed a mattress to replace the old traditional beddings made of ropes. I was experiencing some back pains leave alone the discomforts and sometimes I opted to sit on the bed till dawn. Also, I cleared school fees for my grandchildren since I am the one taking care of them, They are both primary schools, I am glad they will no longer be sent home becasue I paid even for the next term. With the little that had remained, I bought foodstuffs for my family.

It was around 12 noon when we were busy chatting with my grandchildren then one of my grandsons then my phone started ringing. This was an alert of a new message. One of my grandsons decided to check its content only to realize it was the Mpesa message that I had ben waiting for, I felt so happy started planning how best I can utilize it,

Having have constructed the house has brought the biggest difference in my daily life. This is because I used to sleep under a temporary small house with a grass thatched roof. Whenever it could rain it was so hectic and those were the worst days of my life. I used to seek shelter from my friends whose houses are very far from the village. Sometimes I used to stay in the house, with the cold nights' rains I was attacked by pneumonia and asthma. However, I still have all the reasons to thank God because I survived. Currently, I am sheltering under a decent house that is iron-roofed and well plastered. I no longer have to worry about the rains and even insecurity.

I spent part of my first transfer on buying some building materials such as iron sheets, building poles, nails, and timber. I bought all these with an intention of constructing a new house because the previous one was almost collapsing. I am also planning some goats which will be assets that I can lean on just in case of any financial difficulties. Also, I am using the remaining amount of money in buying enough foodstuffs for my family.
