What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent portion of my money on matress. I have been sleeping on mat for more than 3 years. The first thing that came to my mind when I received my transfer was to buy matress. I also used portion of my money to buy cement to improve my mother house. We are living in a house that is not conducive because of the dust. After completing the plastering of the house, my family will have a good place to live. I appreciate GiveDirectly for this transfer.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life now is am happy. I have matress to sleeping on, unlike before I was sleeping on mat. It was very uncomfortable for me, but I couldn't afford money to buy matress. I have bought cement bags to improve my mother house to make it decent for our living. My mother is very happy. She can't stop appreciating GiveDirectly daily.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sleeping in the middle of the night when I heard people shouting in the community. I inquired about what was going on, and I was told that people have started receiving their transfer. I checked my phone and saw my transfer. I ran out of the house and joined the community people. We dance the entire night. I bought matress and cement. I live in my mother house. I will use the cement to improve my mother house. I appreciate GiveDirectly for my transfer alot.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My current challenge is lack of finance. I want to get back in school. when I see my friends in school, I get frustrated but there is nothing I can do. The little business I'm doing is not enough to support my son and I at the same time.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Hearing that GiveDirectly was in Rivercess County and in my district made me so glad. I have been selling to support my son and I but it's not enough. When I heard that GD was giving unconditional grants and heard the amount from a friend of mine who was enrolled. I was very happy with the hoped that I will be enrolled as well.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to go back to school to end my education. I am a 10th grade student. My father was the only one that was supporting me in school but since his demise on July 5, 2018, I have not been able to go back to school because there is no one to help me.
