Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so grateful and I was like wow so it was true that angels really exist on earth..The cash helped me in such a way that I could be able to buy basic necessities for my children when going to school as it has always been a major challenge.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The major difference is that I am now able to go to private hospital in case my children gets sick and needs urgent attention. Also, there is enough food for everyone in the house and there has been a change as in the past my children were failing to attend classes due to lack of food and necessary requirements such as learning materials (pencils, pens and notebooks).
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the cash to purchase building materials such 4 bags of cement and some bricks which will be used to renovate my house.. I bought 10 bags of maize to top up on the few bags that I already had...I then bought some beddings and blankets for my children. Some of the cash was saved to be used for purchasing things like salt, sweet potatoes for breakfast and also to pay the builders who will be working on my house.
