How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I did not have food in my home before but today, i have enough food. My sleeping place was not the best but today my children and i sleep comfortably. I can not begin to what would be of my home if not for givedirectly. I did not have a good harvest this year.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I really am very thankful in ways Givedirectly work. I do not think of anything you guys do wrong. May you continue doing that for other people aswell
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my second transfer i bought 4 bags of fertilizer that i will use in the next farming season. I mostly struggle to find fertilizer which leads to inadequate harvest leading to shortage of food in my home. I saved the other money so that i can use to labour people that will till my land in tje next month. I bought 8 bags of maize to keep me throught the year and 2 blankets to keep me warm in the cold seasons.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was a moment of relief and excitement. I did not believe that such a huge sum of money has been sent to me by GiveDirectly. I thought I was dreaming and I only believed it was real when I withdrew it and bought all the things I lacked. Thank you GiveDirectly!!!!
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference this transfer has made in my daily life is that I now have food on my table. Covid -19 paralysed my business and all other means of survival have been crippled. Thus GiveDirectly came to my rescue as I was starving.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Well, let me begin by thanking GiveDirectly for this cash. It has come at the right time when I had no hope of survival as I did not harvest enough food. I have therefore spent it on food, I have bought 5 bags of maize as well as beddings.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The money means a lot to me. I just built a house and the house is not yet finished. I am planning to buy window glasses and renovate my house. I depend on farming to make both ends meet, but farming has always been a challenge because of lack of farm inputs such as fertilizer, seed and lack of land. So am planning to boost farming by buying all needed inputs using the money. I will also buy furniture.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy when I have sold tomatoes. It's the time we have money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
As of this year, our maize produce was not bumper. My maize field was attacked by pests. So we have reduced food levels so that the maize can sustain us.
