How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I have expanded my poultry project. This has led to an increased income from the sale of eggs and I no longer struggle to provide the basic needs for my family. I also have enough food for my family since I used part of my transfer to buy three bags of maize which will last us till the next harvesting season. I am glad since I was able to settle the hospital bill which has always been my worry using my transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The Give Directly field officers was fair in the enrollment process and I do not see anything that Give Directly does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer to expand my poultry project. In the past I had eight chicken and the income I get from the sale of eggs was little and could not meet all my basic needs. When I received my second transfer, I bought more chicken and I am now happy since I can now get more money from the sale of eggs. I also used the remaining to settle the hospital bill which has accumulated when my husband was admitted at the hospital. I also bought three bags of maize since for the past many months I have been struggling to buy maize flour and at times my family could eat little food when I did not get money to buy food. I also bought new clothes for my children and they are now decent unlike in the past when they used to put on old clothes.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the economic level that we are in. Things are now better because of GiveDirectly funds. We have enough food, new clothes and a new house in process. Life couldn't be better for us! Thank you for the transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I had been eagerly awaiting the funds after enrollment. I even used to be anxious when I received a text message thinking it is the transfer. It finally came and we were elated!
What did you spend your first transfer on?
We are currently building a house using the first transfer from GiveDirectly. We felt we needed a house because we are squeezed in the small one we are living in. We are now building a bigger better house with iron roofing. It will be done in a week's time and we will live in it thereafter. We are happy about this because we had this desire for long but lacked finances to execute it. Thank you for the funds. We also bought food and clothing.
