How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I'm thinking of competing for my house and focusing on a business that will help me and my family. I also bought my zinc bundle of zinc and other building materials. I'm also thinking of paying my children's tuition. I have been living in an old house with my family. my children are been out because of the low income that I'm getting from the farming job.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly is doing great things for me and my family. with this transfer, I'm about to have a very decent house in my village. I have been living in a very old house with my family. my children are been out of school because of the low income that I'm getting from the farming job. I'm grateful for this opportunity from the givedirectly program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
A huge of my transfer was spent on my house. some were also used for my children. I also thinking of starting a business that will help me after this program. I bought the last few bundles of zinc and the other roofing material. A huge of my transfer was spent on my house.

I'm planning to complete my house project with this my second transfer. I just bought zinc and cement to finish with my house. I even spent little amount on planks and stick. I bought some provision for the house. I'm Very old man and not feeling too well in my body. I'm use some of my transfer to go to hospital.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is really doing great things for us in Rivercesse county. More especially we the poor people of Liberia. They don't discriminate between people in their job. That is one thing that i see really about them.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I have always dreamed of building a house. I needed a big and comfortable mattress for my family to relax at night. Due to low income, I did not have enough money to begin my building project and also buy my mattress. Suddenly, I received my transfer from GiveDirectly. I was so pleased and overjoyed by the fact that I could use this transfer to get a new mattress and also begin my house project. I am grateful to GD for their awesome financial assistance that has enabled me fulfilled my dreams.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
All along I did not have the ability of building my own house due to very low income. Furthermore, I couldn't even afford to purchase a comfortable mattress for myself. Life has been very difficult for me until GD intervened through direct cash transfers. My life has completely changed. Being able to start my building project and also purchase a new and comfortable mattress has been the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly. I am so pleased to have benefited from this grant given me by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had desired to build a house and also buy a new and comfortable mattress. Thus, upon receiving my transfer from GiveDirectly, I use portion of the money to buy building materials such as zinc, nails, plank etc... The cost of two bundles of zinc for my new house was $21,000LD. The 3 packs of nails cost $2,400LD. Moreover, the portion of my transfer used to purchase the mattress was $8,000LD. The balance money was used to purchase gasoline and saw plank to roof my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When i receive the cash transfer, I will buy my zinc and build my snall house and also send portion of it to my daughter in Monrovia for her schoo fees
What is the happiest part of your day?
Am happy that i was able to make a farm this year with all of my crops growing well
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Presently am not well. I don't have money to seek medical attention
