Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have gotten those things I have always wanted for a long time.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months,I expect to have expect my life to have changed for the better. My son will be in school and I will have a piece of mind.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Were it not for GiveDirectly,I would have not gotten money to done so many things.Maybe my son could be out of school for lack of school fees or even the thought of expanding my house could have never materialized.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I have always had the goal of seeing my son through school and to expand my current house that is too squeezed. These are still my goals. They are long term and I am hopeful I will fulfill them. I do not have any new goal at the moment.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life would be severe famine. Our main source of income is subsistence farming but in the lastly two years, we have experienced droughts that have resulted in low crop production. Feeding the family has been very hard because we have no alternative means to provide for the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is early afternoon when I take lunch. I feel happy because of the meals to re energise me for the remaining part of the day. I love eating thus my favourite moment.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I plan to spend my transfer on educating my child. I get little from peasant farming which cannot fully cater for his school fees and other basic household needs. The transfer will greatly relieve me from this burden and I believe my son will now complete his secondary education and acquire livelihood courtesy of the transfer from Givedirectly.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of would be building my own house. I previously stayed in a grass thatched house that was leaking but we struggled much by burning and sale of charcoal to get money for its construction. My family now lives in a big and decent house free from rains and dust. I am very proud this.
