How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better now because I sleep in an iron roofed house that I constructed with the GiveDirectly transfers. I have married my wife officially by paying dowery, this has gained me respect from both in laws and my wife. Previously, both my wife and her parents did not respect me and I was sleeping in a leaky hut.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to sensitize me and other community members to be aware of fraudsters. They also preached to people to spend the money peacefully. There is nothing that GiveDirectly did bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying cows and goats that I paid to my inlaws as dowery for my wife. The balance was spent on food for hosting them.
