How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I feel economically empowered and freed from poverty. I have expanded my existing small scale business that has resulted in increased profits. This has enabled me to provide for my family's basic needs including food and clothes with ease. I feel happy when my children and I wear clothes in fashion and look smart. I am no longer a bother to my husband as I budget from my own money instead of fully dependent on him.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has given people power of choice and means to satisfy their needs. There is great happiness and joy all over the community especially those who embraced the program. However, GD would have considered those who changed their minds later for the transfers.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have withdrawn the second transfer and used it to pay fees for my children, renovating my house, repair of a grounded motorcycle that has become addition source of income and expanding my existing small scale business.
