How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has got better because I have got a motorbike which generates income that supports my family in buying food, paying medical bills, my daughter's school fees and any need that arises. The acre of land that I got will increase my crop production. Before, I didn't have a stable source of income. I use do actual labour in people's gardens that fetched very little income about UGX 2,000 a day. I had only one acre of land that couldn't produce enough food crops for the demand of the family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well to give me unconditional cash that have enabled me acquire a motorbike that does transportation business. GiveDirectly has not done anything bad on my side.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 800,000 of my second transfer to pay off a debt I got to purchase a motorbike that I am currently using for business. I lent UGX 500,000 in exchange of an acre of land. I gave my spouse UGX 300,000 and I used UGX 32,000 for buying a tyre for the motorbike.
