How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received this transfers in that I have been able to start a poultry keeping project. This has enabled me to live a stress-free life because I can easily meet our daily needs without much struggle as I make 300 KES per day from selling eggs.Before, I used to rely on masonry works which would fluctuate and I had to stay two to three weeks with work. This was frustrating since I left alot of the household responsibility for my wife. Now, I am able to support my spouse in meeting our daily needs. We have divided some of our household expenses, for instance, I use my income on paying school fees for our children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by sending money to beneficiaries in their personal Mpesa account because this strengthen their transfers security.On the other hand, giving money which needed not to be returned made a bigger economic difference as beneficiaries projected on project that would bring change to their livelihood such as starting small business and building decent houses.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 43,000 KES from the money I received from GiveDirectly to started a poultry rearing project.This project has really boosted my source of income since I directly sell eggs to my villages and from the sales I get 300 KES in a daily basis. The remaining amount I paid school fees for my daughter who is in the university.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life right now is that I now own a cow of my own and it gives me alot of joy. My lifestyle has since changed from then.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I usually wake up with lots of plans and trouble in my about the usual life's hustle, but on this day I woke up with a message that I have received some money. I got so happy and it has since changed my perception of morning hours.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the transfer that I received to buy a cow for rearing and also put up poultry house for rearing chicken. I also paid school fees for rearing.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that my living standards will be uplifted. I wish to use the money to buy dairy cattle as well as practice poultry farming in my farm.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is the time i head back home after a long and tiresome day. Going back home to my family in the evening always puts a smile on my face
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced in my life is the struggle i go through in order to pay school fees for my children. I rarely sleep at night due to thoughts that occupy my mind every time i think of how to clear school fees arreas in varrious schools where my children school in. However, i hope that when i receive this money my life will change
