How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers have beautified my home. I acquired good bedding facilities for the family. We all sleep on comfortable beds. I also hired a piece of farm land to increase my crop production. In the past, my household was in an awkward condition. We did not have enough mattresses, clothes. I must admit that life was very miserable then. I am grateful that GiveDirectly chose to send my family these cash transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has raised the living standards of the community through giving them cash transfers. Many people have constructed permanent houses. This is something that many people would not have achieved on their own. On the other hand, I wish GiveDirectly could revise their eligibility criteria and consider the school going youth who have no financial support. Secondly, GiveDirectly should also consider increasing the amount of the cash transfers because the economy is changing alot.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the cash transfer to purchase household items such as bedding, mattresses, construction materials such as cement and sand. I also lent out some money to a community member.
