How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I could not have received the transfer I could still be sleeping on a mate which is very uncomfortable.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
On my opinion give directly did very well by sending for us money directly and not involving government. It was also a good idea using empesa as means of sending money because it is very convenient.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to buy furniture. I was sitting on a very old one seat that could easily fall somebody down but I do not have other wise, since I could not afford better seat although I was really longing to sit on a nice seats like my neighbors. When I received money from give directly I was so happy because I knew I was going to achieve all my dream. I am glad I now have a very comfortable seat to sitting on. I also spent the transfer to buy mattress and I can say this has really changed my life style since I was sleep on a mat , this was very uncomfortable that I could complain every now and then about my body aching, I could also turn several times during the night. Since I bought the mattress I am sleeping very comfortably that I do not always fee like waking up. I also spent the transfer to start livestock farming where by I spent the money to buy sheep, as away of saving because when it reproduce i will be able to sell some and get the money for my daily use. The remaining balance I spent to buy one bag for my consumption since there was a lot of drought last harvesting season that I did not get enough harvest.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I have been shown a lot of love by givedirectly and I will be able to repair my house and buy food, part of the transfer I will donate to pay fees to my grandchild who has been helping over school holidays.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the day is usually in the morning when I wake up to a new day when I am able to see my neighbors and talk to them, being that I stay alone at night makes it more frightening and you can imagine the joy that the day break comes with.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am faced with is old age because I cannot walk long distance or do my work at the pace I would want to, most of the time I depend on my children to help me and their help is not enough because they too have their own needs to meet.
