How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My children were put out of school recently because I did not have enough money to pay their tuition. I have also started my house project but couldn't continue due to low income. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I paid my children yearly tuition. Additionally, I also purchased 1 bundle of zinc to complete the roofing process of my newly constructed house. I am grateful to GD for transforming my life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has been doing well with the entire program from enrolment stage up to the time I started receiving transfer and beyond. Every aspect of this program initiated by GD is so unique and immeasurable to other NGOs I have known over the years. I see nothing that GiveDirectly is not doing so well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My greatest desire is to see my children attend school regularly. It brings me peace of mind and so much joy. I had also been hoping for enough money to continue my house project. Hence, when I received my transfer, I used $23,200LD to pay my children tuition for the entire academic year 2021/2022. Furthermore, portion of my transfer was used to purchase 1 bundle of zinc for $9,100LD.
